Call in a Guitar Pro

There are times when professional expertise is needed to maintain your guitar. The Guitar Amp Tech specializes in electric guitars and basses.
Here’s what a professional setup includes:

Intonation

Using a precision Peterson strobe tuner for accurate intonation.

Pickup Balance

Adjust each pickup to have similar volume between each string, then balance the volume between each pickup.

Addressing Soldering Issues

Fixing poor soldering techniques or manufacturing defects causing sound problems.

Bridge/Saddle Profile and Bridge Height Adjustments

For optimal action.

Truss Rod Adjustments

Many players get this important setting wrong and each guitar is different. I am not a big fan of putting all that pressure on a bit of steel rod. I have my technique to assist the truss rod when making changes.

“One of the first things I do when a customer brings in a guitar is watch him play. I want to see if he’s a string bender, and how far does he bend. Maybe he’s a shredder and tapper, or he likes to pull and pop his notes with his fingers. I’ll set his guitar up accordingly.”

Sound Improvements for Your Guitar or Bass

We offer several services to enhance your instrument’s sound
pickup Upgrades
I will install your new pickups, or suggest options for you.
Pickup Rewinds
If a pickup fails, we collaborate with top pickup makers like Sliders for rewinding.
Changing the Tone Capacitor
This can significantly improve your tone control IF you use your tone control. For example, I only use the Tone control on the Bridge pickup. In my guitars, I rarely use the factory value and cheap capacitors they use. I have developed a piece of Test gear to find the optimum choice for your guitar. If you don’t use your Tone control then leave it stock.
Treble Bleed Installation
Retains high-end frequencies when the volume knob is turned down. Let’s install a Treble Bleed on your guitar. Sometimes your guitar only needs a capacitor but in most cases, a resistor AND capacitor will give the best result. I have developed a piece of Test gear to find the optimum choice for your guitar.
Please note:
